This post is in regards to MailChimp.
Did you know that you might be paying for emails in your account that are not receiving your newsletters?
That’s right: when people unsubscribe from a MailChimp list, that user is no longer receiving communication from you, BUT MailChimp is still charging you for having that email in your account!
Some lists I’ve seen lately have more than half their users marked as ‘unsubscribed’ but those users still count toward the account’s billing.
What to do?
MailChimp does everything possible to make it nearly impossible to delete those users.
It is possible, but it’s not easy or straightforward. They are also very indirect in their instruction on the matter.
You have to create a segment of your unsubscribed users first, then delete them. It’s a little more involved than that, and if you want some help, please feel free to use my contact form.
Stop paying for useless emails!
